Penalty driving suspended license

License is suspended for a seizure disorder. This is not me (im a corrections officer but dont know the crimes code in PA) but Im trying to scare my boyfriend into not driving anymore. Also, he has an expired inspection so the car is a moving target. Thanks.

Driving on a suspended license is a summary offense. You can be sentenced to serve as much as 90 days in jail and will have a fine of at least $100. The judge may also extend your suspension or, depending on your points, revoke it altogether.

In addition to the criminal consequences, you may face problems with auto insurance if and when your license is reinstated. You may be seen as a “high risk” for auto insurance companies and have to deal with high rates or uninsurability.

Depends on the state. If you’re suspended for a seizure disorder, I think the minimal revocation period is three months? Anyway, I’d imagine, they would likely ticket you for driving on a suspended license, which is a big fine, points off of your license, will more than likely increase your revocation time even longer. Doesn’t pay to break the law. Just wait it out, see a doctor so you can get it back and continue on. I know because I had seizure problems too. The doctor ordered me not to drive for three months, pending his diagnosis on how I was doing on medication after a few weeks. I had not had one incident since I found out about my seizure problems about a year ago. No incidents for like three weeks and the doctor cleared me to drive again. I’d go see the doctor, see what he can do for you. He ultimately will have the authority to say the person is okay to drive again. The three months is just a blanket thing they give you. By law they can’t let you drive for three months. But if a doctor clears you, that cancels it out.
