there is a story that someone when he was driving with their truck, they accidentaly hit deer when driving and it go dies, he was wondering that is it possible to eat the deer?
According to the law when you hit the deer with your van, you should have left it for the next driver who drives past to take so technically it is illegal.

I cannot answer the question whether it is safe to eat because I don’t know what state it’s in but if you cut off the parts you judge to be infected and then cook the edible meat that is left it shouldn’t kill you.
and if it possible to eat the deer, make sure It’s fresh and without disease, as long as you cook it thoroughly. But if you left it out overnight and the temperature was above 30° F at all, I would be wary. Bugs and bacteria start working on carcasses right away.
but actually I would suggest for you not to eat it. You never know what kind of sickness or germs that the deer has inside it
