Kimi Raikkonen has expressed a commitment to return to the Formula 1 arena. Many people who responded positively, but some are still doubting the commitment of former Ferrari.
Doubts about the 2007 world champion, Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said the decision becomes irrefutable evidence of Raikkonen. So, there’s no excuse for those who doubt it, especially Raikkonen has signed a contract duration of two years.
Raikkonen had left the arena of Formula 1 (F1) for two seasons and moved to the World Rally Championship, after Ferrari take it off. However, the Finnish rider finally returned to F1 with Renault team in the 2012 season.
In an interview with F1′s official website, Bahar, who had worked with Raikkonen at Ferrari, said not to worry. He felt confident with the level of commitment and determination of “The Iceman”, although it appears a lot of questions about the motivation of the rider.
“Like anyone who has worked with us, both inside and outside the track, we hope he did the best,” said Bahar.
“I fully expect he will deliver on its commitment to the team very seriously, and will do everything that can be done to gain more points. From past experience I know about Kimi, he was full of dedication and full of determination. He also wanted a good result.”
“He did not make the decision to return to F1 with a relaxed, but he wants to fight to stay ahead.”
Bahar also sure, the arrival of Raikkonen also be a good news for the Lotus brand, which is preparing to take the full rights on behalf of the team.
“Kimi will be a great ambassador for our brand,” said Bahar. “The spirit of struggle and the natural competitive nature makes him feel comfortable.”
“Now we just hope the performance is in accordance with the ability of the car.”
